If thou let this man go, thou art not Caesar's friend:
John
19:8-12
7 The Jews answered him,
We have a law, and by our law he ought to die, because he
made himself the Son of God.
8 When Pilate therefore
heard that saying, he was the more afraid;
Isaiah 53:7 He was oppressed,
and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is
brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before
her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.
Matt 27:12-14
12
And when he was accused of the chief
priests and elders, he answered nothing.
13
Then said Pilate unto him, Hearest thou
not how many things they witness against thee?
14
And he answered him to never a word;
insomuch that the governor marvelled greatly.
9 And went again into
the judgment hall, and saith unto Jesus, Whence art thou?
But Jesus gave him no answer.
10 Then saith Pilate
unto him, Speakest thou not unto me? knowest thou not that I
have power to crucify thee, and have power to release thee?
11 Jesus answered,
Thou couldest
have no power
at all
against me, except it were given thee from above: therefore
he that delivered me unto thee hath the greater sin.
Luke 22:53 When I was
daily with you in the temple, ye stretched forth no hands
against me: but this is your hour, and the power of
darkness.
John 7:30 Then
they sought to take him: but no man laid hands on him,
because his hour was not yet come.
12 And from thenceforth
Pilate sought to release him: but the Jews cried out,
saying, If thou let this man go, thou art not Caesar's
friend: whosoever maketh himself a king speaketh against
Caesar.
Luke 23:2 And they began to
accuse him, saying, We found this
fellow
perverting the nation, and forbidding to give tribute to
Caesar, saying that he himself is Christ a King.
Acts 17:7 Whom Jason hath received: and these all do
contrary to the decrees of Caesar, saying that there is
another king, one
Jesus.
