Proverbs Chapter 12
1 Whoso loveth
instruction loveth knowledge: but he that hateth reproof
is brutish.
2 A good
man obtaineth
favour of the LORD: but a man of wicked devices will he
condemn.
3 A man shall not be
established by wickedness: but the root of the righteous
shall not be moved.
Proverbs 10:25 As the
whirlwind passeth, so
is the wicked no
more: but the
righteous is
an everlasting foundation.
4 A virtuous woman
is a crown to
her husband: but she that maketh ashamed
is as
rottenness in his bones.
1Cor 11:7 For a man indeed
ought not to cover his
head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the
woman is the glory of the man.
Prov 14:30 A sound heart
is the life of
the flesh: but envy the rottenness of the bones.
5 The thoughts of the
righteous are
right: but
the counsels of the wicked
are deceit.
6 The words of the
wicked are
to lie in wait for blood: but the mouth of the upright shall
deliver them.
Prov 1:11,18
11 If they say, Come with
us, let us lay wait for blood, let us lurk privily for the
innocent without cause:
18 And they lay wait for
their own
blood; they lurk privily for their
own lives.
Prov 14:3 In the mouth of the foolish
is a rod of
pride: but the lips of the wise shall preserve them.
7 The wicked are
overthrown, and are
not: but the house of the righteous shall stand.
Psalms 37:36 Yet he passed
away, and, lo, he was
not: yea, I sought him, but he could not be found.
8 A man shall be
commended according to his wisdom: but he that is of a
perverse heart shall be despised.
1 Sam 25:17 Now therefore know
and consider what thou wilt do; for evil is determined
against our master, and against all his household: for he
is such a
son of Belial, that a
man cannot speak to him.
9
He that is
despised, and hath a servant,
is better than
he that honoureth himself, and lacketh bread.
Prov 13:7 There is that maketh
himself rich, yet hath
nothing: there is
that maketh himself poor, yet
hath great
riches.
10 A righteous
man regardeth
the life of his beast: but the tender mercies of the wicked
are cruel.
Deut 25:4 Thou shalt not
muzzle the ox when he treadeth out
the corn.
11 He that tilleth his
land shall be satisfied with bread: but he that followeth
vain persons is
void of understanding.
Gen 3:19 In the sweat of thy
face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground;
for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou
art, and unto
dust shalt thou return.
Prov 28:19 He that tilleth his land shall have plenty of
bread: but he that followeth after vain
persons shall
have poverty enough.
Prov 6:32 But
whoso committeth adultery with a woman lacketh
understanding: he that
doeth it destroyeth his own soul.
12 The wicked desireth
the net of evil men:
but the root of the righteous yieldeth
fruit.
13 The wicked is snared
by the transgression of
his lips: but
the just shall come out of trouble.
Prov 18:7 A fool's mouth
is his
destruction, and his lips
are the snare
of his soul.
2 Peter 2:9 The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out
of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of
judgment to be punished:
14 A man shall be
satisfied with good by the fruit of
his mouth: and
the recompence of a man's hands shall be rendered unto him.
Prov 13:2 A man shall eat good
by the fruit of his
mouth: but the soul of the transgressors
shall eat
violence
Isaiah 3:10,11
10 Say ye to the righteous, that
it shall be
well with him:
for they shall eat the fruit of their doings.
11 Woe unto the wicked!
it shall be ill
with him:
for the reward of his hands shall be given him.
15 The way of a fool
is right in his
own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel
is wise.
Luke 18:11
The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I
thank thee, that I am not as other men
are,
extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.
16 A fool's wrath is
presently known: but a prudent
man covereth
shame.
Prov 29:11 A fool uttereth all
his mind: but a wise
man keepeth it in till afterwards.
17
He that
speaketh truth sheweth forth righteousness: but a false
witness deceit.
Prov 14:5 A faithful witness
will not lie: but a false witness will utter lies.
18 There is that
speaketh like the piercings of a sword: but the tongue of
the wise is
health.
Psalms 57:4 My soul
is among lions:
and I lie
even among
them that are set on fire,
even the sons
of men, whose teeth are
spears and arrows, and their tongue a sharp sword.
Psalms 64:3 Who whet their tongue like a sword,
and bend
their bows to shoot
their arrows, even
bitter words:
19 The lip of truth
shall be established for ever: but a lying tongue
is but for a
moment.
Prov 19:5,9
5 A false witness shall not
be unpunished, and he
that speaketh lies shall not escape.
9 A false witness shall not
be unpunished, and he
that speaketh lies shall perish.
20 Deceit
is in the heart
of them that imagine evil: but to the counsellors of peace
is joy.
21 There shall no evil
happen to the just: but the wicked shall be filled with
mischief.
22 Lying lips
are abomination
to the LORD: but they that deal truly
are his
delight.
Rev 22:15 For without
are dogs, and
sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters,
and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.
23 A prudent man
concealeth knowledge: but the heart of fools proclaimeth
foolishness.
Prov 13:16 Every prudent
man dealeth
with knowledge: but a fool layeth open
his folly.
24 The hand of the
diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under
tribute.
Prov 10:4 He becometh poor
that dealeth with
a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.
25 Heaviness in the
heart of man maketh it stoop: but a good word maketh it
glad.
Prov 15:13 A merry heart maketh
a cheerful countenance: but by sorrow of the heart the
spirit is broken.
Isaiah 50:4 The Lord GOD hath given me the tongue of the
learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to
him that is
weary: he wakeneth morning by morning, he wakeneth mine ear
to hear as the learned.
26 The righteous
is more
excellent than his neighbour: but the way of the wicked
seduceth them.
27 The slothful
man roasteth
not that which he took in hunting: but the substance of a
diligent man is
precious.
28 In the way of
righteousness is
life; and in
the pathway thereof
there is no death.
