Proverbs Chapter 5
1 My son, attend unto
my wisdom, and
bow thine ear to my understanding:
2 That thou mayest
regard discretion, and
that thy lips may keep knowledge.
Mal 2:7 For the priest's lips
should keep knowledge, and they should seek the law at his
mouth: for he is
the messenger of the LORD of hosts.
3 For the lips of a
strange woman drop as
an honeycomb, and her mouth
is smoother
than oil:
Prov
2:16 To deliver thee from the strange woman,
even from the
stranger which
flattereth with her words;
6:24 To keep thee from the evil woman, from the flattery of
the tongue of a strange woman.
Psalm 55:21 The words
of his mouth were smoother than butter, but war
was in his
heart: his words were softer than oil, yet
were they drawn
swords.
4 But her end is
bitter as wormwood, sharp as a two edged sword.
Eccl 7:26 And I find more
bitter than death the woman, whose heart
is snares and
nets, and
her hands as
bands: whoso pleaseth God shall escape from her; but the
sinner shall be taken by her.
Heb 4:12 For the word of God
is quick, and
powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even
to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the
joints and marrow, and
is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of
the heart.
5 Her feet go down to
death; her steps take hold on hell.
Prov 7:27 Her house
is the way to
hell, going down to the chambers of death.
6 Lest thou shouldest
ponder the path of life, her ways are moveable,
that thou canst
not know them.
7 Hear me now
therefore, O ye children, and depart not from the words of
my mouth.
8 Remove thy way far
from her, and come not nigh the door of her house:
9 Lest thou give
thine honour unto others, and thy years unto the cruel:
10 Lest strangers be
filled with thy wealth; and thy labours
be in the house
of a stranger;
11 And thou mourn at
the last, when thy flesh and thy body are consumed,
12 And say, How have
I hated instruction, and my heart despised reproof;
Prov
1:25 But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would
none of my reproof:
1:29 For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the
fear of the LORD:
12:1 Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge: but he
that hateth reproof is
brutish.
13 And have not
obeyed the voice of my teachers, nor inclined mine ear to
them that instructed me!
14 I was almost in
all evil in the midst of the congregation and assembly.
15 Drink waters out
of thine own cistern, and running waters out of thine own
well.
16 Let thy fountains
be dispersed abroad,
and rivers of waters in the streets.
17 Let them be only
thine own, and not strangers' with thee.
18 Let thy fountain
be blessed: and rejoice with the wife of thy youth.
Mal 2:14 Yet ye say,
Wherefore? Because the LORD hath been witness between thee
and the wife of thy youth, against whom thou hast dealt
treacherously: yet is
she thy companion, and the wife of thy covenant.
19
Let her be as
the loving hind and pleasant roe; let her breasts satisfy
thee at all times; and be thou ravished always with her
love.
Song of Sol
2:9 My beloved is like a roe or a young hart: behold, he
standeth behind our wall, he looketh forth at the windows,
shewing himself through the lattice.
4:5 Thy two breasts
are like two young roes that are twins, which
feed among the lilies.
20 And why wilt thou,
my son, be ravished with a strange woman, and embrace the
bosom of a stranger?
Prov 2:16 To deliver thee from
the strange woman, even
from the stranger which
flattereth with her words;
21 For the ways of
man are
before the eyes of the LORD, and he pondereth all his
goings.
2 Chron 16:9 For the eyes of
the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew
himself strong in the behalf of
them whose
heart is
perfect toward him. Herein thou hast done foolishly:
therefore from henceforth thou shalt have wars.
Job 31:4 Doth not he see my
ways, and count all my steps?
Prov 15:3 The eyes of the LORD
are in every
place, beholding the evil and the good.
Jer 16:17 Neither shall
men tear
themselves for
them in mourning, to comfort them for the dead; neither
shall men
give them the cup of consolation to drink for their father
or for their mother.
Hos 7:2 And they consider not in their hearts
that I remember
all their wickedness: now their own doings have beset them
about; they are before my face.
Heb 4:13 Neither is there any creature that is not manifest
in his sight: but all things
are naked and
opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.
22 His own iniquities
shall take the wicked himself, and he shall be holden with
the cords of his sins.
Psalms 9:15 The heathen are
sunk down in the pit
that they made: in the net which they hid is
their own foot taken.
23 He shall die
without instruction; and in the greatness of his folly he
shall go astray.
Job
4:21 Doth not their excellency
which is in
them go away? they die, even without wisdom.
36:12 But if they obey not, they shall perish by the sword,
and they shall die without knowledge.
