The message of John the Baptist is still very useful and applicable today. His message will be useful until the end of the world. His message, “Repent, turn away from your sins, turn to God, for the Kingdom is near, is even more applicable today because the Kingdom is near-er. We are at the door.

The Kingdom today, after the resurrection of Jesus is as near as your heart. Your heart is your vehicle to heaven. When you ask Jesus into your heart and to be your Lord, you put heaven in your heart. When you put heaven in your heart,  you put your heart in heaven.

If you remain on the path you are on and heaven is not in your heart, you will not make it there. Life is short, eternity is long, you cannot have heaven in only one. You have to have heaven in your heart in your earth life before you can heaven in eternity.
